I qualified as a solicitor in 1973. After many years working in local government and then in legal firms, I set up my own practice in 1993. I gained accreditation from the Law Society in planning law practice in 2010. I have now retired from practising as a solicitor, but I continue to work on a variety of planning matters. Based in north Essex, I provide a service to a wide range of clients and professionals in the eastern counties and beyond. Working on my own, I am able to give a personal and professional service to all my clients. I like to make the complexities of planning law, policy and procedures clearly understood.
You might need to get planning permission for a new building or extension, or for a change of use; or help in fighting enforcement action taken by the Council; or advice on the prospect of unwelcome development nearby; or perhaps plans put forward by the Council itself for the future of the area. I have extensive experience in all these circumstances and can help you make sense of the procedures involved.
I also lead training courses on planning law for solicitors and other lawyers, and have written for legal journals.
